The much anticipated, highly sought after, hard to get, Bogle Phantom. Last year the store was only able to get two cases of the Phantom, and it was gone by Christmas. This year we've got a few more cases to sell, and we're super excited about it.
I (of course) had to make sure this vintage was up to par. And, let me tell you, it is. This is a very tasty blend from Bogle Vineyards. The Bogle lineup is always a good buy anyway. Their merlot, cabernet, and Chardonnay are some of our best selling under $15.
The Phantom is a blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Nice dark fruit, soft but velvety tannins, and pretty solid structure. I've always liked the Phantom as a great middle of the road bottle. Its bold enough that the big cab lover will like it. Its also soft enough that the merlot and Zinfandel drinker will enjoy it to.
I think this is delicious, and just as good as previous years, if not better. Grab a bottle while you can.
