Southern Tier - Imperial Pumking

Southern Tier Pumking just blew my flip-flops off. It pours out a light golden color, not quite an amber, with just a touch of reddish-brown hue. The foam is pretty white in color, with small bubbles, but pretty thick at first. The foam slowly faded, but just a little bit of bubbles continue to arise throughout my glass.

The aromas are out of this world! It doesn't just smell like pumpkin pie, it smells like my grandma's kitchen while the family is baking pumpkin pie. I can smell the pumpkin, cinnamon, spices, and even the whipped cream I think!

It tastes nearly unbelievable. It tastes like the whipped cream is on the pumpkin pie, and even a little Karo on the side (my grandpa wouldn't have it any other way).

There is just the right amount of hops, with plenty of sweet malt, which I love. At 9% abv, I can't barely tell the alcohol is there. The body isn't light, but its not heavy either. It really is like a slice of pumpkin pie. I'm crowning this one the new King of Fall Seasonals!  And, if you doubt my review for any reason, check out my boy Chris at Beer Geek Nation

  1. I miss this beer already. Truly one of the best seasonal beers I've ever had. Unlike other pumpkin style beers, this one I felt like I could have more than one of without getting sick of it. Just excellent!
