One can only follow greatness with more greatness

After getting plenty of strange looks and comments on my Delirium Tremens, it was time to open a new bottle. I've said many times, once you go great, you can't go back. At least not in the same evening. So, how can I follow a Delirium with anything other than Ommegang Three Philosophers.

I always love this brew! Its a Belgian style Quadruple, blended with a Kriek, Cherry Ale. It pours out dark, and fairly thick. The foam is thick, and just off-white in color. The bubbles continue to surface for what seems like an eternity. Some of the guys even joked about their Bud Lights going flat and warm, while the Ommegang showed plenty of life for long after.

It is rich and malty on the palate, with just a little bit of fruitiness from the cherries. The Three Philosophers is always a mouthful, with notes of so many flavors all at once. I can taste a little hops, tons of malt, cherry, spices, bread/yeastiness, and so much more.
